Peter has been writing music since he started playing in a Bradford rock band called Start back in the early 80's. "In those days we were heavily influenced by the Beatles, The Stones, The Who with some Police, U2 and The Clash thrown in." Start played a mixture of pubs and Working Men's Clubs all around Yorkshire until the band split up. Peter began writing with Grant Marshal, another Bradford songwriter and together they managed to get a songwriting publishing deal with a subsidiary of EMI. Peter and Grant formed Scratch another guitar band. The line-up changed a few times before Peter eventually quit and hung up his guitar for several years to concentrate on being a father. Eventually, he returned to writing but this time took up the more challenging role of writing musicals. "This taught me a lot about composing" said Peter "You can't just do whatever you want, you have a story to tell and you need to find the right melody and feel as well and the lyric. At Christmas 2017 Peter literally bumped into Rob Biranyai the Bass Player from Start. They got back in touch with Gary Wood who had been the lead guitarist and in 2018 they started writing and recording for the first time in 30 years. They released several tracks on Soundcloud (https://soundcloud.com/user-949109099) before finally releasing their very first album called Idleize. Peter still continues to write for theatre and film and his latest album called Isolation is a collection of songs inspired by the radio drama called Torrent.
